NAYOUNG KIM made her debut at the age of thirteen in Seoul with a program twelve etudes by Chopin. A year later, she performed with Seoul Symphony Orchestra. Then she moved to Austria and began her studies as the youngest and the best student at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. After the graduation, she continued to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover with Prof. Einar Steen-Nökleberg.
She is a prizewinner of national and international competitions such as the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy, the Austrian Young Music Competition Prima la Musica, the International Grieg Piano Competition Oslo and the International Piano Competition in Epinal, France, the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition in Norway, the International Chamber Music Competition in Trapani, the International G. Zinetti Chamber Music Competition in Italy, the European Chamber Music Competition, the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Competition in Germany among others.
She has received important musical impulse from Menahem Pressler, Dario De Rosa, Joseph Kalichstein, Paul Badura-Skoda, Hans Leygraf, and Ferenc Rados. As a soloist and chamber musician, she has performed with Seoul Symphony Orchestra, Eurasia Philharmonic Orchestra, Incheon Philharmonic Orchestra, Musikkhøgskolens symfoniorkester Oslo, Librec Orchestra throughout Europe, USA and Korea.
Festival appearances include the Braunschweig Classix Festival, Grieg Festival, Levende klassisk Festival, Trondheim Festival, International Music Festival Goslar-Harz, NDR Musiktag Hannover, and Korean Oversea Festival among others.
